Hope Farms is located just off the Colorado River in Smithville Texas, about an hour East of Austin and just a bit past Bastrop on Loop Road. We also have a pecan orchrid, (Wichita, Cheyenne, and Choctaw varieties) in Garfield off Highway 71, and a smaller vegetable farm in Driftwood.
Tom grew up on a ranch and has grown traditional crops like wheat and sorgum in the past before turning to vegetables. He and wife Zandra saw how much Tom's parents enjoyed growing produce and selling at the road side stand in front of the family ranch and began farming the Driftwood property, much to the neighbors surprise because of the rock covered land.
After several rough seasons, Tom and Zandra had to scale back the gardens and at this time are only growing enough vegetables for their own use. But when you come for a visit, they might just share some with you.
